From the delightful comic opera by the French composer Ferdinand Herold (1791 – 1833), comes this cheeky and laughable dance for the main characters. The ‘mother’ initially declares she does not want to dance. However, the daughter persuades her and a wonderful sequence ensues. This arrangement of the pit orchestra score for wind quintet captures the cheekyness of the dance and the inclusion of a part for wood block adds to that feel.
