Vittorio Monti (1868-1922), violinist and composer established himself as the foremost mandolin player in Italy at the turn of the 19th/20th century. He wrote many works for the instrument, establsihed a mandolin group under his name and publsihed a mandolin method for stuents. As a conposer, he wrote many ballets and operas. This is probably his most well know work and there have been many arrangements of it, mostly for violin and orchestra. This arrangement is for solo violin or alternatively, solo clarinet. However, if a different instrument needs to used, a part can be arranged for that purpose.
