Enrico Nicola (Henry) Mancini (1924-1994), is considered one of the greatest film music composers. He was also a gifted, arranger, pianist and flautist. His work encompassed the Peter Gunn tv series, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and a long association with Blake Edwards that produced the Pink Panther theme. Perhaps one of the most recognisable themes from the films, it has been arranged by many people for many different groups. This wind quintet arrangement perhaps does not have the ‘punch’ of bigger groups but still offers a lovely piece of music that is fun to play. The main theme is offered on alto sax however, an alternative part for clarinet is included.
